Aye, thems the ones. Got mine a year ago, love them and can (and have) spent all day walking around in them.
Got a proper poorly finger, not just an "ooh my finger hurts" but a "you need an x-ray to make sure it's not dislocated" job. 3 hours in A&E to get two fingers strapped together with masking tape.
Just as well I work opposite the hospital - great service really as the 3 hours involved a trip to walk-in centre, then sent to A&E, triage, x-ray and then consultation.1 -
I am saving up for some.
Get well soon.1 -
Cheapest I found were pecheur.com which is the french fishing arm of Decathlon. Random but good value. Waited almost 2 weeks for delivery but so much cheaper than anywhere else it is worth it. Price seems to vary and different sizes and colours vary on price daily so need to look out regularly1

Finger recovering.
New hot water dispenser arrived - am not convinced it's very good. Might be going back!
£4 on ice creams for my team and me1 -
Oops, accidentally OPd £150 instead of paying off credit card
2 more days at current job then 2 weeks off then starting new job much closer to home. Slight pay cut offset by lower pension contributions (but higher pension at end of it ) and lower fuel costs.1 -
Oops indeed - like your style :rotfl: hope new job goes well. Good news on lower fuel costsStarting Mortgage 01.08.08 £171,209.24. Am going to use next 2 weeks to declutter - have listed lots of books, a hanging rail and some ink cartridges on Freegle and now keep compulsively checking email to see if we have any takers
Listed old cylinder hoover on Gumtree - probably not worth much but is 1800 watts so someone might be interested!
Had roofer round to re-quote - waiting on pricing coming through to decide if we go for a complete re-roof in slate or "just" replace all the leadwork, reset ridge tiles etc. The cost of the work may not actually differ that much but the cost of materials will decide which way we go. Slate will look nicer and put less weight /stress on the rest of the building.
Also considering replacing the kitchen sooner than planned - cupboards are almost hanging off the walls but had hoped to get another 1 - 2 years out of them. Not sure they will last that long!
Another plan is to get wood burner installer in this week to quote - won't be cheap (especially as it will be non-standard due to a quirk in the size of our chimney) but if we can get it done before September then we can make use of it this winter. Almost means we can render / plaster the fireplace and it will look less like a building site!
All the above means we will need to use the stooze money so will mean some serious cut backs elsewhere to replace the money ASAP.
On the plus side, OH just had a good payrise and hopefully my costs will reduce in new job (more time, closer to home).
So hope to make serious in roads to the work on the house, then investments and hopefully, finally, paying off the mortgage!1 -
Busy times ahead! I do love a good declutter. Am currently working my around my bedroom. DH is a real horder though so I am only allowed to do my half of the cupboards :rotfl:Starting Mortgage 01.08.08 £171,209.24.
