HL exemplary service

If the "Leaving HL without transfer charges" thread has taught us anything, it's that some aspects of HL's offering are far from the best possible service. There's nothing wrong in staying put because you like the service you receive, but I wouldn't extrapolate an expectation of good service beyond your time as an active customer. When I die I would like my executors and heirs to receive the best possible service0 -
When I die I would like my executors and heirs to receive the best possible service
Even if you only leave them a fraction of the money you could have, because you've been contributing over £1000 a year to HL for how many years now (and how many years to come?).
Good service - after missing two months pension payments and having £85,000 of cash disappearing for two months. :rotfl:I think not.
Hopefully HL have improved their account closure processes by the time you pass on. And that your executors and heirs have the patience of saints and are good at complaining.0 -

HL's service seems to focus on attracting new money rather than on providing a good outcome for those no longer needing their services.
I want my heirs to receive the best possible financial outcome and not to have the likes of HL draining off high fees and generally being a big pants regards moving/closing accounts.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -
Isn't that just an account statement?
Never used HL but Charles Stanley offer a web portal feature where download of accounts as either PDF or Excel for all statements and current valuations, with user selectable dates and information, is available as standard. I'm surprised HL don't offer something similar.'We don't need to be smarter than the rest; we need to be more disciplined than the rest.' - WB0 -
This is turning into a BA versus Ryanair thread.
You pay your money and you make your choice
I must admit I enjoy club class

I think you're missing the point. HL offer very little that can't be obtained in at least equal measure elsewhere, for less.'We don't need to be smarter than the rest; we need to be more disciplined than the rest.' - WB0

Me too, which is why I pay less in fees to investment platforms so my investments can grow to allow me to fly at the pointy end.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

oh dear, and i hold no* shares in IAG, so won't be profiting from the gadgetmind millions
(actually, just in case somebody takes this as a share tip, airline shares are usually best avoided.)

Agreed, but my wife does hold some TUI Travel shares. However, while their 'planes do have pointy ends, I don't think the seats there are better than any of the others.
I am however "Gold" for life with AA/BA so get a lot of free upgrades from those guys.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
