Anyone on Homecall? Need a favour please!

I know that this may be slightly cheeky...

I am trying to find out whether a particular telephone number works using HOMECALL. This number is FREEFONE using BT and it is for connection to the internet using one of Martin Lewis' recommended companies (MIPCard - MyInternetPass).

On the web site for MIPCard at one point it says you need a BT line and then at another point it says it's fine as you are not on cable.

Could somebody with Homecall dial up the following number using a standard phone (0808 991 6230) and tell me whether you get the normal dial-up computer beep-beeps (you know what I mean!). Ideally I would like to know that it is freefone as well, but Homecall are not responding to my questions!

(The reason I need this help is that I am about to stay with my elderly mum who has Homecall and I need internet access; it would be a bit difficult for me to explain the number that needs to be dialed let alone to report back on the beep-beeps!!!! ;) )

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Tony

There are other people on Homecall! Well I never..
Pipex own Homecall now, and the customer service is terrible! I want to change ISP as soon as possible. I wouldn't get internet with Pipex Tony, Stay well away! I lost the cd software for this computer and wanted to install it on another pc and email them and asked them to send me another cd, they didnt reply for about a month and I had to send many emails..and in the end they never sent the cd.. just some instructions which were very hard to follow about how to use the service on the other pc. I tried and it didnt work. :( I'm now stuck using the internet on my pc that is 10 yrs old and doesnt work v.well.
