Old DVDs and CDs

Morning All
I have a load of old DVDs and CDs which are never watched or listened to. Totally unloved!!
I want to sell them and get the best price obviously, but do not want to list them all on ebay and likely not sell them. I have looked at the prices on Music Magpie and although they are not great prices, they will take almost everything, postage is not an issue and it seems like a viable option....
Just looking for comments and feedback...
Thanks for anything...

Try www.webuybooks.co.uk - they often match or offer slightly (pence) better prices than magpie, also very reliable in paying quickly. Free postage also so no cost to you.
Also try https://uk.webuy.com/ which is the online arm of CEX. They too will offer for your DVD/CD's and also offer free postage and can often offer higher prices for some stuff and less for other stuff. Weird.
Both these will send you back any goods they feel is not good enough (ie, scratched, etc), free of charge.
You are best devoting a few hours on a Sunday and check the prices through Magpie, WeBuy and CEX to get the best prices on each (true MSE!).
Not heard good things about MusicMagpie, they take ages to pay apparently, but cannot comment personally as never used them.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -

Noooooooo......
There's at least 2 threads on MSE already about Music Magpie..... neither of which paint them in a positive light.
Go read them first.0 -
Can you tell me which types of movies you have ?Never find fault with the absent0

Loads.... movies, tv series, some music dvds..... all sorts of things collected over years.0 -
uk.webuy.com I would recommend that one too, lots of decent stuff0

UK.Webuy.com is great but better if you do Exchange (voucher) then buy something else from them with the voucher. Their prices can be better than Music Magpie though.
With TV boxsets, sell on eBay.
Then whatever's left, Music Magpie or cash converters if there's one near you (sometimes give 30p per DVD, which is what Magpie pay). CDs will need to be music magpie. Not many places take them...0 -
I took all my old DVDs along to my local branch of CEX. I paid no postage, got an immediate payout (some were surprisingly worth the effort) and have no other issues to report.
Best DVDs for trade are Disney and (current) TV box sets.
Some of the movies attracted only pence rather than pounds and it was especially sad to see even "special editions" and double discs sometimes being "worth" next to nothing.
I was just happy to be rid, I've long since ceased watching DVD in favour of Blu-Ray (which I realise is hardly money-saving)0 -
Another option could be doing a car boot sale. Many people sell DVDs starting from £1, you might have some luck there.0

You could also look at an online forum called "The Digital Fix"
http://forums.thedigitalfix.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=20
You will need to register to view the Classifieds section but no fees involved and decide your own (reasonable) prices. More obscure stuff gets their tails wagging!Everybody dies, but not everyone truly lives0 -

Hi my first post on these forums.I signed up as I like to think im savvy with money, also begrudge the way of the world these days.
Anyhow regarding your dilema..... I had a simlar situation to you last year where music magpie offered me peanuts for my CD/DVD's, so I decided not to go with them as they will buy super cheap and sell on to compsnies like morrisons who will sell on for £2-3 as replay CD's. Like is say not fond of these big companies giving us the finger while our throw away culture fuels their economy.
So I sold my CD/DVD's at a car boot, got between £2-5 for each item depending on what it was. I was happy with the result as im sure the customer/s were.
Alternatively you could hold on to them for 20 + years, the price of these things could be like star wars figures, and turn into real collectors items. Yes you wouldnt think it now as there is so many of them around, but you never know. Also you have a product in your hand unlike a digital download, or something stored on a server which to me never really feels mine and again you cant sell on.0
