Thanks for that. However have just been counting my credit searches for the last few months and have one for Extraenergy two months ago, TSB C/A 7 weeks go and last week M and S bank C/A.

Bearing in mind the above do you think it would be wise the leave for a few months now.
I wouldn't be concerned at all, and would make the application now.

Have applied and said if my application was sucessful they would email me. I rang them up and confirmed it was accepted. Also I can switch online and the £750 can be paid in by any method to meet the criteria for the £5.00 reward. I had thought it had to be by dd but must be getting confused with the 2 dd's they refer to.

Yes you are confused - it is not possible to pay into a personal current account by DD. You, or someone else, can pay in by SO, FP, cash, cheque, mobile payment, or payment can come from a company doing BACS payment.

You need 2 different DDs that pay out of your account, monthly, to complete the requirements for the £5.

Just one further question I have about 4 Lloyds Bank accounts which I believe were converted to Vantage. Would I be able to use one of those accounts as a donor account and be able to leave the other accounts open.

Yes you can upgrade one of them

The Vantage accounts will become pretty undesirable from July 2 2014 onwards when the interest rate plummets and only be paid if the account has 2 monthly paying DDs on top of the minimum monthly deposit.

Applied on Thursday and still no email from Halifax Bank. I phoned them again and confirmed the account was open but are waiting for another dept to do their part.

Also I noticed on my Noddle credit report they carried out a credit search on Thursday and then shows another entry as administration view afterwards. Not sure why the administration review was necessary.

Phone them again and they now say the application has been approved but still awaiting for their fulfilment dept to open the account. I thought the email from them would be received in 48 hrs from when applying. They now advise I call back Monday when they will speak to their processing dept for me.

    UPDATE
Went into Halifax branch this pm and they confirmed account now open and gave me the account details and also arranged the switch for me.

Also applied to the Co Operative today for the standard account with the £100 cash offer and just received an email confirming my application was accepted and account will be open in a few days subject to a few formalities.

I have 3 Lloyds Vantage A/c still with 2 DD's each month coming out of them (to my 2 Tesco's A/c's), I also have a Halifax Reward A/c which I've had for a few years, with DD's again going to my Tesco's saving A/c's

Can I transfer one of these Lloyds A/c's to my Halifax to get the £100 switching or would I have to open a new A/c with Halifax (but I don't think you can't have 2 Reward A/c's now) or can't it be done because I've already got DD's going to the same place.....

I've already switch my FlexDirect to FD and have received my £100 and I'm thinking of using another of the Lloyds to switch to Co-op, them see what happens for the last Lloyds A/c (maybe M&S or Tesco).

Why (although it's worked to your advantage now with the upcoming switch to Halifax)?

Yes, providing you meet the criteria on their website...specifically the "since Jan 2012" bit.

Why; because Lloyds used to pay 4% upto £7k but you had to have 2 DD's on the A/c. When they dropped it to 3% on £5k they removed the need to have 2 DD's but since they were only going to my own Tasco's Saving A/c's I never got around to removed them and maybe incase / hope the rate / limit would rise again and the need for DD's re-instated......they are only for £1 each.
