Would it not just be simpler to have a blank text document on desktop? No need then to open Word at all. Just open doc, cut 'n' paste, then scrub when needed.
I haven't been asked to tell you that I'm the Board Drunk for this board. As the night wears on, my posts will become worse, with simple spelling mistakes, inane ramblings, and a blatant disregard for the truth. I have no authority to do anything, so there's no point asking or telling me. If you see me past midnight, please tell me to get my coat and order me a taxi.

Whatever text editor you use - Word, Notepad, Wordpad, Works - will need to open, simply to open the blank document. In the same way as you cannot surf the net without opening your browser, you can't paste to a document without opening the text editor.

Geallu, see Chippy Minton's post #9. The Quick Launch toolbar appears just to the right of the Start button.

You can alter the number of icons shown as described, and if you want to alter the favourite ones shown or the order, press the button for the pop-up part and drag from the list back into the taskbar part
