Mortgage application with halifax

Me and my husband have applied for a mortgage with the Halifax, our application has a B PASS and has been sent away to the underwriters because they can not find us on the voters roll even tho we are and have been for years, I've gave them a letter to prove we are, how likely are we to get accepted? We are putting down 10% have no missed payments in last 6 years only thing is I've not have much credit but my husband has.
Mortgage adviser said we should find out by Friday prob won't sleep till then :( don't know what we will do if we get declined we've done all we can

    Hi Sam,

how do you know what level of pass you have ? we have also applied with Halifax and are currently waiting a mortgage offer, so just wondering how you are aware of the pass rating ?
Also have you checked your credit file with all 3 agencies and do they show you as being on the electoral register ?

    Hey
The mortgage adviser told me it was a b pass, when I went for my mortgage in principle they said they couldn't find me on the electoral roll so I called them and I am got them to send out a letter confirming which I gave to the bank, so stressful this process!! Also when I went to my bank rbs I said to them about the electoral and they looked and could find me

I don't believe they do a score above B for the loan to value.

Well we can just wait and see we've done all we can it's just them not being able to find us on the electoral roll that's worrying/annoying me

    Hi

I think Halifax may have an issue with their system because I went to them for an AIP at the end of March and had exactly the same problem!! They credit checked me and said it came back saying I was not on the electoral role and that I had not had any previous credit accounts which was rubbish as I have had rather a lot of previous credit accounts and have been on the electoral role for the past 19 years. I checked with the Local Authority that day and they confirmed I was definitely on the electoral role so I asked Halifax to run the credit check again (they only do a soft check at AIP stage so no damage to be done) and it came back correct picking everything up. Not sure what went wrong the first time but I think it is worth asking them to do it again for you. It was the difference between getting an 85% LTV and 95% for me so made a big difference!!

Our application with Halifax went to the underwriters too, I assumed this was just the normal thing they did?

Anyway our valuation came back on the Wednesday as being okay, got told the application had gone to the underwriters and by Thursday we had the mortgage offer, I wouldn't worry about it going to the underwriters.

Fluffy clouds they already checked again :( but still didn't show up! But we have sent In our letters to say we are on it so hopefully that helps , I'm thinking that's why it's a b pass instead of an a ,
