provident - rant

You've got it wrong - provvies are your friends, my little niece told me. Apparently her mum has lovely ''friends'' who call each week to lend them money, and then these 'friends' call in to check whether mum needs extra money. Isn't that kind? The problem is that her mum is on benefits and can't afford to pay the 'friends' back, so she sends niece round to cry to nasty old Aunty M who pays-off the provvies and shouts at niece's mum for being stupid. So you see, provvies are NOT cows, it's aunties who are the cows around here. Grrr.0

For a mad maveric moneysaver anthillmob. I cant belive you are dealing with PROVIDENT. Have you not taken in all the good advice given on this site. ??? As for the missed payment, pay your provident on time, you obviously had enough for the week you were on holiday.I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.0

this provvy loan goes back beyong when i joined this site. i got tangled up with them when i was on benefits and being treated for depression, they prey on the vulnerable. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -
What a cheeky cow eh. Fancy knocking on your door hard enough to make sure you hear so she isnt standing there for ages waiting until someone hears here so she can do her job. Cheeky cow indeed. hmmmmm Also how cheeky of her to challenge the non payment that probably wasted her time and cost her money. Oh dear whatever next. Maybe she will do what I do and have the cheek to bother you by ringing your mobile if she calls one day and you arent home. Thankfully I have nice understanding customers who pay me double before they go on holiday or tell me they are going and pay double when they get back.

dont give up the day job love, sarcasm isnt your strong point.

So how did the provi agent know you were vulnerable. Is it not the case you had been a previous customer so therefore given permission for them to contact you for 6 months after you paid off or that you had contacted them direct to ask for a loan as a new customer. See I dont understand how you managed to get that initial loan without making contact with provident to ask for it. ??????
Also regarding this comment 'dont give up the day job love, sarcasm isnt your strong point.

I wont give up my day job as I have lovely customers who give me no reason to be sarcastic. Please also point out where I was not nice to you. I was merely commenting on how cheeky your agent is. You cant honestly expect to come on here and tell everyone you wasted your agents time by not telling them you were going on holiday and expect those of us who pay our debts to agree with you.0 -
they went door to door knocking and asking if people wanted loans. i was skint and on benefits and caught at a very vulnerable time.
i have noo problems with paying them and its my own stupidity for getting into this. our agent knew we were going on holiday but as i said he was sacked just before we went. we understood provvy would contact us regarding our new agent. we have not and did not waste her time, head office should have made her aware we were on holiday. what our old agent told them though we dont know, maybe he didnt inform them but thats hardly our problem.
i just object to the way she spoke to us like we were something she had trodden in and hammering on our door like she did. we dont want our neighbours knowing our business.
for the record i pay all of my debts and am out of the huge hole i was in. i dont hide my head in the sand anymore regarding any loans, it took me a few years but ive got there in the end. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -
Yes but you had the choice to say no but you chose to say yes. I dont think its fair to tar all collectors with the same brush that we so often seem to get.
Head office would not have been aware that you were on holiday and it was down to your old agent to inform the office and in turn the new agent. I dont know why he was sacked but it must have been bad as Provident and generally very tolerant with agents.
As for her speaking to you like she did well I wasnt there but I do know that sometimes I get peeved off and at a guess I would say she is probably just covering this until they find someone else and maybe even has her own round and was trying her best to fit this one in too. Or maybe she had had a terrible day being new to the area and not being able to find her way around or not knowing what the best time to call for certain customers is and therefore having to go round and round in circles. I would guess she isnt normally like she was but was probably stressed for one of the above reasons and I hope for the sake of your relationship you can put this behind you and get on with her. I am know for what you call hammering on peoples doors. My customers often comment on my knocking but not in an awful way, just taking the micky out of me. I personally dont think i knock hard but maybe its just years of experience and I dont realise I do. Its how I koock though and im sure we all do it to different degrees.
Im pleased to see you pay all your debts and got yourself out of a hole. Its pointless hiding from the provi agent as she will only have to come back until she sees you. I tell my customers if you arent going to pay tell me so I dont waste my time. This works well and we have a great relationship.
I wasnt being nasty when I posted but just found it a bit cheeky of yourself too posting what you did when someone was just trying to do their job. As an agent we are also agony aunts and sometimes the things I am told on my rounds are upsetting and disturbing and sometimes I carry this around with me and probably act a bit different time to time with my customers. Its a tough job sometimes and even though we help a lot of people and we dont all rip people off and prey on the vulnerable it doesnt stop people on here having a go at us all. It really isnt worth our while giving people loans they cant afford to pay, we dont get paid for giving loans we get paid for collecting them back. We are not rewarded for sales.
If this woman is going to be your permanent agent I hope you can manage to get on with her as one day she may become a good friend who listens when times are tough.

i understand your point but she clearly peed me off the other night. if she is as patronising as the last time the next time we will make a complaint. our last agent, although a friend, was lovely and the ones we had before him were too.
im not arring all of you with the same brush either, she peed me off and i vented steam at the time. i didnt want this to turn into a discussion of what a spiteful cow i can be, ive enough of that with some !!!! elsewhere on t'interweb without having any here.
apologies for the sarcasm post. ive something niggling at me this week thats made me furious and i cannot get it solved despite my efforts. ill edit that post now. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0
