Initially, I feel as though getting 'a job' should be my initial concern. Then when i've got some spare money, I could take a course?

I've looked at my local college prospectus.
Nothing grabs me, and without any kind of direction or 'work related' interest, it seems a bit overwhelming.

Some people might love driving, and they might know they want to be a taxi driver.
Or some people might love numbers/maths, and then choose to be an accountant?
But if your hobbies and interests aren't things that have anything to do with work (playing football, listening to music, surfing the web, going to friends BBQ's, sunbathing!), then I guess you have to come at it from a different angle?!

All I have to go by is that maths was my best subject at school in terms of GCSE grade. I've been told that my writing/grammar etc is not awful.

I know that there's a job out there somewhere that'd suit me.
    I don't know about a 'career', though.

hehe. Not poker, but I have made a few K in recent years with a different sort of 'gambling', but tempted to quit whilst i'm ahead!

Or you could take a course while you work?

You say you like listening to music, so how would you feel about studying music?

Is there seriously nothing you can think that you would enjoy pursuing if you could?

Once I discard pipe dream jobs I'm really left racking my brain.

Because I was OK at maths at school and I can use a PC, one of the career ideas I always seem to come back too is some sort of book keeping job.
It sounds like the most boring job in the world if I'm honest, but it's one of very few ideas I have. Office based. OK pay. Not stuck to a telephone dealing with customers.
Not sure about the best way to get qualified or how difficult it would be.

The other (more recent) idea is some sort of website designer position. The National careers service seem to think that you'd don't need any qualifications, but based on my daily job searches this is another untruth.

One more before I go to bed.

A while ago, someone on here said they had a job doing 1st line IT support.
They said that they mainly reset peoples passwords all day.
That sounds kinda easy? (and their pay was more than what i'm used too)

Might that be a possibility If I gained a certificate?
    (i've heard A+ certificate mentioned (?).
Don't think my local college do anything so specific, though)

Never give up in your pipe dream. I am working hard to achieve mine while holding down a day job in the meantime. It can be done - people do all the time

    Do you have people skills?
    Do you have patience?
    Good telephone manner ?
What sounds easy often isn't as people often find they simplest task needs support when it comes to IT
