I switched from npower at the end of November and provided , when requested, gas and electric meter readings to both suppliers. My gas supply is fine and both npower and eon who I've moved to are using the same reading and I have had my final bill from npower, however the electric reading used was massively higher than I submitted - npower issued the final bill for this one leaving me owing £6 ok in itself but I was expecting a credit of a few hundred due to their early mistakes with my dd over the year!! Trying to get this resolved is a nightmare I even took photos of the meter reading at the time of taking it which I said I could provide but they are just not interested. I am constantly ringing but it seems this will drag on and on! So frustrated0

I left NPower in May and paid my final bill. last week I received another bill, albeit £25. I reluctantly paid as I cant afford to spend the time chasing this up nor a bad credit rating. NPower really should be shut down.:mad:0

Omg I've been with NPower for 8 years and have always paid roughly the same per month (increases by about £15-£20 per month in winter). I give regular meter readings and so far have not had an issue with them. Should I be concerned by all these horror stories?
We have a three bedroom link terrace (only linked by upper floor) with the only gas being the heating and hob. We are presently paying £65 per month. There is only two of us. I'm an OCD unplugger so little is left on if we are out or away and the same applies to the heating.
Does £50-65 sound about right or have I been getting under charged?0 -

I've only had one bill, they seem to only generate bills every 6 months. The direct debit has been reduced by quite an amount and is about half what my fairly accurate estimate shows, which is to my advantage, but with the sluggish to non existant billing I wonder what happens when I ditch and switch in April?0 -
We left N Power in March 2013, we then recieved a FINAL BILL saying they owed us over £500, days later this FINAL BILL was reduced to £300, the the next day to £40 then was changed to us owing them over £600. We contacted N Power who could not offer an explanation other than we needed to pay it, we then contacted the Ombudsman , who also said we needed to pay but we were given £75 compensation. I paid and our balance was 0. Last week we received another bill say we still owed them over £200. The ombudsman said they couldn't help and we would have to start a new complaint. Don't know what to do next.
Any help or advise would be gratefully recieved as I am going through treatment for cancer at the moment I could really do without the extra stress0 -
We rented an address from Aug 2013 to Oct 2014 and were supplied by npower for gas and electricity. After multiple calls asking to be billed and multiple promises, no bills materialised. We eventually had a letter from npower after over 1 year of no bills, advising of a write off. We thought this was great and npower was finally being punished for appalling customer service. Anyway we moved out on 23rd Oct 2014 and supplied final meter readings. Yesterday(2/3/15) we received our final bill, our only bill ever from npower. They claim that we owe £378 but without any clear indication of where they have calculated this from. I spoke to customer services and in fairness the lady was very nice but admitted that looking at the account there were so many notes on it that it was going to take her a while to figure out whats going on. They plan to ring me back. I'm still waiting on that call.0

Do you still have a copy of the letter where npower advised they would write off the bill? And was it clear that the write-off was to cover the final period until you moved out?0 -
Have not had a reliable bill since January 2013, Ombudsman involved for last 14 months (ineffective), believe approx £60 owed to settle account to 2.3.15 but cannot get npower to provide a correct bill. Is there any way I can send what I reckon is the balance as a 'full and final settlement' up to 2.3.15 so that I can change supplier. (Quite happy to pay what is owed after this date as settlement on change of supplier.) Can anyone suggest legal/correct wording to do 'full and final settlement' letter?0

We have never been with NPower. When we moved into our new property the previous owners had been with them. We kept our old electricity supplier but kept getting bills from NPower. For months I argued with them saying they were not our supplier and after so long it went quiet. Today we received a letter from a debt collector stating we owe NPower money for electricity for the last 3 years - DISGRACEFUL!!!:mad:0

I finally left Npower in March and have received a final bill for £335. My calculations show this to be wildly incorrect and I noticed the bill shwed the meter readings in cubic feet - 'Total units (100s of cubic feet)'.
However my meter is measuring cubic meters - this means that Npower think I have an Imperial meter when in fact I have a metric meter and are multiply the readings by a conversion factor of 2.86 - so my bills have been nearly 3 time what they should have been.
When I finally got through to customer services (nearly an hour) they said they would investigate and when I asked what type of meter they had registered for the property - she said she could not provide that information!
It's so depressing to have to deal with these people again - I thought I was rid of them and could get on with my life - Purchasing energy should not be like this. Npower should call it a day and get out of the energy market - they are a disgrace.0
