Unfortunately, such arrogant behaviour becomes more and more common for UK banks.
"Refer to the T&C" note speaks for itself.0 -
Have you had any large Paypal payments into that account recently? It does sound like they think you might be running a business, or appear to be running a business out of a personal bank account.
I suggest you 'refer to the Ts&Cs' only in so far as to establish how to switch your account to a better bank. In the interests of honesty, I must declare that I despise Barclays and vowed several years ago never to bank with them again if they were the last bank on earth.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Basically, you cannot escape debts. You have to settle anything that is outstanding. Moving your debts from bank to bank will not help you - to the contrary, it will probably make things more difficult for you every time you apply for a new bank account.0

They have probably done further checks on your credit file, seen something they don't like and decided to close your account.
You will probably get a letter and/or phone call to advise you to go into branch and withdraw any money you have. All that glitters is not gold.0 -

That's what the T&C exist for that are obligatory for both parties, not just for the customers:We can close an account (and stop providing
services and end this agreement) by giving
you at least two months’ notice in writing.0 -

Definitely inconsistency as the 'bills' were accompanied by "so I'm not forgetting DD dates".
Regardless, this was a side note that was OOT. It just looks to me that your plan doesn't work well.0
