So either they suspect tethering or there might be something else you haven't mentioned that has flagged your account for some reason.
Unfortunately it doesn't help you as there is no way to appeal such a decision, as long as they have given you notice of the change you are free to leave if you don't want to accept.
Three will offer you truly unlimited data on sim only for £12.90 a month.====0 -

This is true.
But I'd at least write to Virign to find out the exact reason you've been kicked off the unlimited data plan and why the 3.5GB speed cap never kicked in as mentioned above.0
