I have resisted to now but I am expecting my first grandchild in just a few weeks and appreciate that a mobile phone may be very useful. I want a camera and I want to be able to send photos via my pc.

payg would suit me and I don`t need anything singing and dancing

I suppose I want a phone that a child could use if I`m truthful and I want easy set-up and back-up

help!!!

i think the Sony ericsson k750i would be a good bet for you.

it has one of the best 2mp cameras around on a phone. its a good allrounder and best of all its only £50 on o2 online at the moment

I would choose one of the Anytime tariffs.

Are you likely to use the phone to speak or text more?

I'd probably go with Talk Anytime then. That allows you up to 150 free minutes at any time of day when you top up each month.

No you don't have to top up each month. If you don't you won't receive any free minutes after your first lot but you will just use up the amount you have credited.

Another phone I would recommend is the Motorola V3 from Tesco Mobile. The tariff on this is very good for an occasional user like you sound. It's £60. However standard tariff is 20p a minute at any time of day to any network or landline. You can have 3 favourite numbers and then the tariff is only 10p a minute. Comapre that to O2 which is 25p a minute or 40p to mobile networks other than O2.

I agree about sony ericsson. I have the k750i on PAYG. I just bought my son the sony ericsson k310i for about £35 on PAYG and the pictures are fine.
