First off Ill hold my hands up - my fat for not noting settings.
I had to reset my router today, settings now at default. The credentials to logon to Sky's server are now blank. I can't put my hand on the details I noted so resort to turning to sky for help. The person I spoke to was fixated on providing default name and password for sky router, I have a netgear, she seamed unable to grasp that my login credentials for the DNS server were incorrect. She went around in circles telling me a sky router didn't ask for this.
I asked if there was someone available who may be I'm a position to assist, she explained she was the expert .
Help, how do I get login credentials sorted to the server.

Are the details on a sticker on the router? If not you would probably have more luck contacting Netgear.
Sky can't support you with your individual router settings if you aren't using a Sky router...0 -
Sky have netgear routers (not the current router but plenty of customers still use them) so perhaps you should have listened to her .
Still the good news is Sky's BB tech support is 24 hour so you could call them back and troubleshoot WITH the agent this time
The Sky issued routers go back to 2007 so it is possible the reset killed the router however as the DNS settings are standard on all Sky routers so you shouldn't be having the problem as you describe it.
So first step is...are you using a Sky netgear router or a third party one ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Can someone with a netgear router post their sky settings (ob not their username p /w).Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

The router is not sky's it's my own.
I did listen, why do you think otherwise.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
Sky routers have their account names and passwords built in to the firmware, how you got hold of them for a third party router using standard software is a bit of a mistery.
You can't normally see what they are, on older routers people have been able to extract the relavent information. \you may be able to get help over on skyuser.
What happened to your Sky suppliede router? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
