Vanquis driving me mad!

Hi all
How do I stop Vanquis from ringing me.
I do not have a card with them and I do not owe them a single penny!
I did apply once for a card but they wanted all sorts of letters of proof bills etc so in the end I said please remove my application from your systems.
Since then they call about 6 times a day and I have just had a call now at 9.30am on Bank Holiday Monday!!!
Please dont advise me to block the number as they never ring from the same number! Thats why I answer the phone as I dont know its them!
They ring from London,Manchester and Birmingham so far!
Please help with any advice as it is driving me mad.
Thanks

I know exactly what you mean. Some people can be so frustrating, can't they?

Good luck in dealing with it! :)

Write a letter! If that doesn't work you can officially complain.

When they first rang you they most likely asked if it was convenient to discuss it and if it is ok to proceed. That authorised them to do that and also to ring you again due to a prior association. When I was swamped with calls trying to sell me their equivalent of PPI I just told them I didn't want to discuss it any more and to stop ringing me and they haven't rang me since. Perhaps putting it in writing would have better results for you.

btw it's probably not Vanquis ringing you but a direct selling call centre working on commission. A reasonably good way of finding out who they are is to enter their phone number into a Google search.

    Hi Anthorn
It def is Vanquis because I dont recognise the number I ask who is calling and they say Vanquis!
  • They are likely to be using the Vanquis name under 'license', and so will refer to themselves as Vanquis.

This said, you should still be able to request them to remove your details, regardless.
Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!

I had a Vanquis card and regularly got the calls when they were trying to sell me their PPI. I told them to stop phoning me and remove me from their mailing lists, they never called me again.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
