foreigners can be the same race as me.
fellow citizens and neighbours can be a different race from me.0 -

Again, falling back on the narrow taxonomic definition of race doesn't really cut it there. If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0 -
So it is. But the general rule is, if you want something (we'd like to renegotiate the EEA please) you have to give something in return. Thus it is the party that wants the change that ends up paying.
If we came out of the EU, we would almost certainly come out of the EEA as well. Yes we would need to negotiate a new trade agreement with the EU. Would we get everything we want? - almost certainly not. Would the EU get everything they want? - again, almost certainly not. Would it better than where we are now? - absolutely no idea!
The proposed EU referendum would suffer from many of the issues of the Scottish referendum. If we vote to pull out, we are voting for uncertainty as everything then has to be negotiated. There is little to no chance of anything meaningful having being negotiated before-hand.
I can see the EU getting fed up with us (alongside Sweden and Denmark) continuing to sit on the fence and force us to make our mind up what we want - in or out. If we all pull out together it may make it easier to negotiate a replacement trade deal. If we do it individually, I suspect the fear of the unknown may make a pull-out vote unlikely.
That said, I initially felt a Scottish 'Yes to independence' vote was unlikely (for all the same reasons) - now, I'm slightly less sure.0 -

The meaning of words is important
their misuse was well practiced by both fascist and communist states and I'm sure doesn't cut it here with thoughtful and well intentioned people.
The taxonomic meaning you are using is very much a modern aspect of the use of the word 'race'. This common additional aspect and recent use does not exclude the broader meaning. Misusing it to suggest that the process of treating people differently based on which large distinct population group they belong to is cognitively distinct from the process of doing so when only considering a taxonomic distinction is both self evidentially flawed, and sinister. If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0 -

so you are equating 'race' with 'nationality' or/and 'citizenship'0
