Hi Folks,
My first post - but after booking myself instead of paying £300pp upgrades I thought this was a winner! Saved over £26 on lounge access for me and the better half.
So, here's how to get the best discount I have found for lounges (at Gatwick North/South, and some others).
Firstly, exchange £10 of Tesco vouchers for the Hi-Life membership (RRP £69.99!). You get 12 months membership PLUS tonnes of other stuff with this too including 2-4-1 dining, but the real reason we are getting this is it also gives you 2-4-1 at No1traveller lounges AND you get free fast track security!
Plus - You can also grab yourself some quidco discount/rebate while you're at it to sweeten the deal!
So instead of £50 for 2 people, its £25 + 11% cashback = £11.12 per person!
If you include the hi-life saving and assume tesco vouchers are real money, its actually -£48.87 in your pocket!

in true MSE style I have to ask why people shell out any money at all to sit in an airport lounge? Time it right, just turn up, checkin, buy supplies airside, board. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

There are a number of reasons why people are at airports well before the time they need to be.
1/ People in transit may be there for a very long time.
2/ It's fine saying time it right getting there, but with traffic problems around some airports, this is easier said than done and it's better to be two hours too early rather than 5 minutes too late. There are also people who rely on public transport and they may have to turn up earlier than they would like.
3/ When departing from holiday destinations, it's not uncommom to have to check out of a hotel by 10am or 11am, and if your flight isn't until late afternoon or evening and you don't have transport, what are you meant to do if you have loads of baggage?
4/ You are normally told to allow a minimum of two hours to get through check in and security and whilst it does sometimes take this long (Heathrow in July & August for example), you might be lucky and manage it in only 20 or 30 minutes.
5/ It's often nice to go to a lounge if you find that your flight has been delayed for a fair while.
I'm sure that there are other reasons apart from these.0 -

Yep. If you don't live near to the airport and public transport does not connect. I've often spent hours at airports for early flights because I lived in remote places and had no option but to use public transport.
(5 months airport parking can be very un-MSE).Turning left avoids some of the idiots (only some)0 -
We generally like to eat at the airport, so the £11 lounge access works out much cheaper than paying for breakfast and coffee.
Remember, being mse isn't just about saving every penny, it's also about finding ways to live luxury on the cheap!0 -
will this work for birmingham airport or just london0

Is this walk up only? When I had my Taste Card, we got 2 for 1 at Escape Lounge but couldn't prebook to redeem .
Couldn't get in. Fully pre booked when we tried.0 -
Couldn't see where it says Fast Track security unless you pay extra?0
