Hi

We have north facing driveway which of mostly paved and am keen to add some life.

1. Am looking to get some decent plant that I can put in quite large pots. Any recommendation?

2. Are there any plants that will get good colour flowers in driveway in pot? Not sure if hydrogenea (probably wrong spelling) is suitable. I saw decent size pot for sale in sainsbury for £13 today.

Skimmia, Box-leaved honeysuckle, box, pieris, if you're looking for flowers then try some of the Camelias or honeysuckle.

Skimmia and rhododendron are both evergreen, just remember to keep them watered. Hydraengas are also ok but they are not evergreen, and like the skimmias and rhodendrons they need plenty of water.

    Impatiens.

Also consider rotating plants that cope with partial shade. Have two tubs and keep on in shade and the other near the front or back door.

Pieris and camellia need an acid soil. They die very quickly around here, even if they are in pots, because of the lime in the water.
