Hi
My SIM only contract on O2 is almost at the end of its min 12 month term and I will be cancelling it.
Now do they require this in writing or on the phone ? I'd much rather put it in writing and be done with it.
Is there any requirement for me to talk to them on the phone, I just don't wanna get involved in a retention a deal with them
Thanks
Darren

Is it your intention to abandon your number? If so, you can write, but make sure that the contract is terminated and you get the final bill.0

My contract is up on 28/6/14 and last week I wrote to Orange saying I wont be renewing and asked for acknowledgement ( no reply ).
This week I telephoned and was told I had notified them too early and must ring on the 28th May to give notice for the 28th June , any later and I would be charged an extra month .0 -
You just call and ask for your PAC and decline any retention offers that might be made.No free lunch, and no free laptop

I just want rid of the contract and not fussed about the number.
Didn't really want to get involved in any retention offerings from them, but I understood some networks required you to speak to them so security questions can be passed ?
Contract ends on 29 July, so I can write to them on the 30 June ?

Apart from TalkMobile (who are a complete pain) I always give notice to end my contracts on the last day of the minimum term by calling when I'm within 60 days of that date. I don't wait until the last 30 days and don't have much of a problem giving a longer notice (except TalkMobile who I'm unimpressed by).0
