It takes forever for banks to separate their joint systems, when I was still a newbie working at Barclaycard, while doing credit checks on companies applying for merchant services I stumbled across a database of account details that didn't match the details I was trying to match them against, my supervisor told me that they were account details from another bank (Bank of Scotland I think it was) that were still connected to Barclays systems, he told me to forget everything I had seen and stay away from that area of the files, so clearly the two banks systems were still sharing the same database but they had a gentlemen's agreement not to encroach on each others data.

.... they were account details from another bank (Bank of Scotland I think it was) that were still connected to Barclays systems, ...

Barclays used to make Barclaycards available through other banks which didn't have their own branded cards. Yorkshire bank was one of them and back in the 1980s I had a "Yorkshire Bank Barclaycard". I can't remember after all these years what it said on the statements, but it said "Yorkshire Bank Barclaycard" on the card.
