Good grief, does any of this matter at all?

It doesn't matter in the sense that there's no mistake with my card account, but it matters if Lloyds Banking Group are serious about TSB being a separate bank from Lloyds. It doesn't bode well for the sell-off if they can't separate their systems.

Also, sending emails in the wrong branding could confuse some customers into ignoring the emails as spam, not realising their statements had been produced, not paying their bills and ending up with charges.

Was on the phone for 55 minutes because they couldn't understand what happened and was transferring round departments

Rang Lloyds, but they didn't want to know as I'm not on their system and they have no record of me.

Rang TSB who were very puzzled and the adviser put me on hold while she asked somebody for advice.

...Got an apology and they said a manager would investigate and feed it back to the correct department, but no compensation. Phone call didn't cost me anything for an 0345 number. I was only on for about five or ten minutes so I didn't think it was worth asking for anything.

I pretty much said I was confused who I was banking with and thought Lloyds and TSB were separate. I also asked about data protection and the FOS. The woman said she would give me £50 for the inconvenience and distress caused (No distress, just genuine confusion). She then said oh i see your calling from a mobile, we will refund that too. She said it would take up to 5 working days to go in so as yet not got it but I am hopeful!

That's clearly where I went wrong; I never thought to mention data protection. I should have planned my speech more carefully before I rang.:)

I'd have hung up after about 3 minutes.
