Ryanair finds NEW ways to take your CASH!

You will now face a penalty if you try to do your online checkin too soon!! They've invented something called advanced checkin which means you will be forced to pay for allocated seating which costs £5-10 each way if you checkin between 30 - 8 days before your flight. So like me, if you prefer to be prepared and do your checkin for both your outward and return journey a week or so before you travel then Ryanair will do you over with this penalty. Ive got no means of checking in or printing a boarding pass where I'm going next month unless I'm prepared to pay to do this somewhere at my inconvenience to avoid this charge. It seems they just love to sit around and find new ways to take more money out of their passengers. Needless to say I have put a complaint in writing to them and intend to expose this further like thousands of other people will I'm sure.

You live in London with a vast choice of travel options, why did you choose Ryanair?

Many airlines only allow you to check in and print boarding card 24 hours before the flight

It's almost as if they are a company ran to make money...

And I have never stayed in a hotel or hostel that didn't allow me to print out a boarding pass free of charge.

I suppose we are going to have lots of these threads until after the summer holidays, but it is going to get rather tiresome.

MODS, cant you make a sticky about the new Ryanair system, to try to prevent repeat, moans, as people seem not to want to read other threads?

I hate them not sending a limo to pick me up.flight was nearly £20 too. Not even a fanfare when I arrived.
    Rip off.

rustyboy21 perhaps you can help me.

I am flying out next Tuesday am. and returning 11 days later.

Went in tonight to print off outward boarding pass but procedure takes me to inward journey as well which is not available until 7/6 which I fully get.
HOWEVER it will not let me print off boarding passes for outward journey, the print icon does not activate.

I've tried contacting them by e-mail but the response is to go through the steps I have already gone through. I don't want to phone their 0902 number but I am falling at your feet and despite my ignorance I was wondering if you could solve my dilemma.

I have travelled for years and printed off boarding passes without difficulty and this is the first time this has happened.

    Any ideas?

Two quick questions - where are you flying to and how much did your ticket cost ?

    Cracked it.

The process took me through to return flight which is outwith the 7 day period. The penny eventually dropped and I pressed the Check In Later button which I had not opted for previously because I wanted to Check In Now for the outward flight. Then hey presto, it took me through eventually after another few potential booby traps to print off my passes.

    Simple when you know how!!!

It'll help me for the three other return flights I have got booked under the new system!!! Phew!!
