Beware Sky F1 Fans

Beware upgrading your SKY subscription if you watch Sky F1 HD. I was recently offered an upgrade to the family pack HD for an extra £0.15p a month and told I would receive lots of extra channels including 3D and lose none of my existing channels, and accepted on this basis. This turned out to be untrue as I previously subscribed to the HD pack which included Sky F1 HD and this channel is no longer available to me. Sky tell me the only way I can now watch the races is by paying for the full Sky Sports package. Sky have apologised and admit I was mis-sold the upgrade but claim not to be able to restore my original package including Sky F1 HD even though I rejected the upgrade well within the cooling off period for distant selling.
Sky obviously intend phasing out the Sky F1 HD channel so all F1 fans are forced to pay for the full sky sports package if they want to watch any races once the BBC licence expires.

You were not upgrading but downgrading from presumably Entertainment+ plus HD pack to the family pack and cancelling the HD pack which to most people would save around £5 per month - were you previously on a deal?
It has been very clear from the start of the F1 channel that it was only included with either the Sports or HD pack.
You were mis-sold when you were told you would not lose any channels but this warning has been posted many times on many forums since the new pack structure was introduced. I would suggest you email [Removed] and see whether the CEO's office can help.0 -
Thank you for the contact details. I specifically told the Sky rep I did not want to give up the HD channel as I only added it originally to watch the F1 and I still have Sky+HD. Sky called it an upgrade in their follow up email although have since referred to it as a cross-grade which they say should not have been allowed.
Had I been aware of previous postings I would obviously not have accepted the offer.0 -
A similar thing happened to me, when Sky F1 launched it was part of the HD pack, when I upgraded I moved onto the new HD pack which didn't include Sky F1, at the time of the upgrade I asked if I'd lose any channels and was told no.
I couldn't move back onto the old HD pack as it no longer exists, the only way to get Sky F1 would be to subscribe to the Sky Sports pack, I kicked up a fuss and they offered my the Sky Sports pack for £2.50 a month0 -
drbesty - by doing this they have got an extra £2.50 per month out of you - is that right?0

I would be in the same situation if I didn't know about it.
I have a subscription on the Family Pack and HD. I don't have sports. I get F1 as a bonus from when I subscribed to HD, it was part of the deal.
I cannot change my SKY subscription pretty much in any way now without them changing me to be on a Sky Entertainment+ Pack, and then I would loose F1.
Please note I COULD add Sky3D (online) without falling into the trap.0
