As I explained, I am not an employee of the Daily Mail so I have no control over its advertising. I really just wanted to do my job as a journalist exposing wrong-doing but you seem to have other ideas.
I hope other members of the forum will excuse me/us.
If I were in your position I would probably be doing and saying the same. I'll be extremely (and pleasantly) surprised if your article mentions the misleading ads that were featured on the Daily Mail site.
Given the mentions I found online then it would be easy enough to find victims amongst Daily Mail readers.
I'm just some herbert on an internet forum, I doubt I have any influence on anyone wanting to contact you. If anything I hope they do and that the Daily Mail will recompense them for their time. It would seem especially churlish for the DM to make money from the original advertising and then making more money from the expose on it..0 -
Without examples of real people who have been taken in by these sites, I doubt very much the article will go ahead.Approved Journalist

Paid with paypal, then tried to get the bid robot into action but every time I logout when I log back in the bid robot was no longer doing its work, so I just wondered why that.
Swoggi is registered on Paypal as Juniper Global Ltd, but seems Swoggi is working via another company called Sophora Media Ltd. Done companies check. Juniper Global Ltd seems to be the leading one the director is in Singapore. The address in London is a dummy one, not a PO box but still used by whoever wants to pay to get a dummy address in London.
Now no there are no rules which means that you would expect for Trading Standards, Companies House and the like to scream 'scam'! but they do not simply because there are so many of them, as long as they pay their corporation tax they simply do not care. Though I am trying to get my money back from Paypal, told trading standards, emailed BBC watch dog and the like, By the way Swoggi is on facebook, but no surprise there one cannot comment to them unless from one of their adverts, so I did! and I invite you to do the same......0 -
It;s a scam, tried it out and was bidding against a Bid Robot - no chance of winning and in addition the bid seconds go down and back up again. Forget it please. On yahoo there is a review from Money Expert which is linked with Swoggi - don't fall for it. These people who have won must have been very lucky indeed or spent loads buying bids. :-( £15 down0

Well I now have the proof the products on their site do not exist and I do have it writing, they are also telling me they do not provide any paper work, such as an invoice, because people would they know who they are. They opened a ltd company in the UK called Sophora Media Ltd, the registered address is an accountant: Westbury who admitted that his other company did opened for them a po box but they did not renew since last year, to I told the Companies house. I trace them to Singapore, once again at a po box type address. The names of the directors are common names down there so searching those is too difficult, Acra in Singapore which is similar to the companies house in the UK told me yes it is a valid company in Singapore (if a po box is valid?!) called Juniper Global Pte. Ltd. the directors names can be pseudo names, so they could be anywhere in the world scamming people with the blessings of PayPal!0

I have the similar situation on last Friday. Swoggi charged me 50 pounds without telling me during the registration. I immediately inform Paypal but they said Swoggi had the T & C, point 7 which I only can accept their deduction of the administrative fee of 15 pounds before they refund it back to me. Then, I received another email from Swoggi that due to my account was an open case with Paypal, they couldn't refund to me and urged me to close the case. I called up Paypal and confirmed that Paypal allows seller to arrange any amount of refund to the buyer regardless the case is opened or closed. Also, I contacted BBC news, Consumer Direct and Active fraud etc. Consumer Direct suggested me to inform Swoggi according to the Consumer Contract Regulations, I haven't received any pre-contact information before they charged me 50 pounds and they go straight to charge me during the registration. Therefore, their T & C, point No 7 is not valid anymore. We should be able to get the full refund back. However, for those who made the decision to go ahead with the bidding is not fall into this case. I found their article about how successful of their bidding through the Timeout London, so informed their Advertising Director as well. They are willing to look for this article and take them out but unfortunately I couldn't find it there anymore. I hope no more advertisements were promoted through any popular web site. I hope the government body may start investigating their business as it is for sure a fraud. Meanwhile, I am still waiting for my refund but at least I take all possible actions. I hope you all try to report to the Consumer Direct and log your case at the Active Fraud.0

Well I have reported Swoggi to the fraud investigation in the UK, but they think there is no fraud! I have also reported this to Trading Standard but they have not even tried to contact me. While.... Swoggi still operating and frauding thousands of people... and.... they do have a limited company with some types of po box addresses, which are no longer called PO but same here the authorities don't want to more same as watch dog who have, I believe, received thousands of complaints. So my question here is: who is swoggi? who is behind? a politician? a well known person against whom people don't dare go against....0

As above MSE have never recommended this site. It appears that people do misread the reviews and assume it is MSE when it is in fact a different company. It is all these assumptions and slight misreadings that enable scam sites like Swoggi to exist.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
