Flights to Canada

Hi,
We're planning to go to Canada next summer, probably June, to visit relatives who live near Vancouver. I've no idea when to start looking at booking flights (this year or early next year?) or which airlines might be best, although I've done a bit of research on average prices. Has anyone got any suggestions? I'd be really grateful.
Thanks.

If I were you I would check out flight cost via Skyscanner, Kayak etc. for Vancouver and Seattle. Flights to Seattle are normally considerably cheaper and it is easy to travel from one to the other. Also if you intend to hire a car whilst there it is 40% cheaper to hire in the US and then drive into Canada.0

Thanks for your reply. Someone else had recommended flying into Seattle but I'd forgotten! Will go and look at prices now.0

If its for next June (2015?) then most flights won't be on sale yet. Scheduled airlines usually put flights on sale just under a year in advance. You can set up automatic price alerts on Kayak to help you keep track of prices.
Also look at Canadian Affair who use Air Transat. They can be very reasonable.0 -
Yes, June 2015. Thanks for the advice.0

I used Candian Affair and booked my flight to Calagary 13 months before I'm due to travel. They tend to bring out a 10% summer code during the summer months (have done for the last 2 years at least). SO I booked mine in July 2013 for travel in August 2014. Saved £250 on an already expensive flight
but it was still much cheaper than flying on a scheduled airline and its direct
My advice: wait till about June/July and google Canadian Affair discount code or check back on here as MSEs usually post them hereI love a bargain and saving money! I don't have any debts and mortgage repaid in 20200
