Malwarebytes is free for malware/spyware etc https://www.malwarebytes.org/

and avg is free for viruses http://www.avg.com/gb-en/homepage
Barclays give out free licenses for Kaspersky and that is the one I used to pay for I have that and malwarebytes running ;)

So if I were to install malware bytes it would scan my laptop and list anything out of the ordinary.. Then I just delete??

Then I could install a new security device like avast

Thanks, I've just read that. I'm not a "clicker" I only do what I need to but I know our security has run out:( didn't renew as didn't want to pay another £50+. I know there are free ones but I wouldn't know which were any good. It's like reading Chinese...
Find a decent seller on ebay of your preferred one, probably £15- £20 for 5 licenses or thats what I used to pay

I've just bought McAfee, £27.49 for 3 users and never had any issues.. I've just looked for you and it's showing £25 for one user or £27.49 for 3. Buy online and download it -easy peasy. But don't auto renew as they'll charge you double next year.
