BT Broadband

I received a cold call from BT offering BT sports, broadband and phone line at a better deal than we were getting from sky. The only difference was the broadband wasn't unlimited, it had a cap of 10gb. We advised the sales agent we didn't really know if 10gb would be enough and after going over what we use broadband for with the BT rep advised us 10gb would be plenty.
Anyway 3 days into our contract and we've had an e-mail advising us that we are 6gb into our allowance and would be charge £5 per 5gb after exceeding our 10gb allowance.
We immediately called BT who advised us we could pay an additional £13 a month for unlimited broadband or pay £340 to leave the contract.
After a lengthy conversation with numerous people we are waiting for a copy of the original cold call selling us the package as we feel we we're mis-sold the deal. BT have advised this can take 10 days.
Does anyone know if we have a right to cancel as we've only had the box for 3 days??

What are you using it for to chew through 2GB a day?
No, you can't cancel once the service has commenced. You'd need to pursue the mis-selling approach. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If after listening to the call the Compliance team find you were mis-sold the contract they will allow you to cancel.
But 2GB a day? Really? Wow.0 -
I average 60 a month so i suppose thats about 2 per day. Stuff like netflix, iplayer etc really uses it quickly.
I have never had to get a copy of a call from BT but know for a fact they do lie during calls. I record all calls myself (to my mobile as there are plenty of apps that can do it) so things like this wont be a problem.0 -
