G24 contractual parking charge notice - sorry for another newbie thread!

Options
Firstly can I apologise in starting a new thread - I have had a read through the previous threads and I can understand if this is another same old, same old.

I've recieved two contractual parking charge notice's from G24 for exceeding the maximum free parking at Toys'R'Us, Plymouth. The parking charge fine is £100.00 or £60.00 if paid in 14 days.

Reading through previous threads you say to contact the landowener/retailer; in this case Toys'R'Us. However on both occasions I did not shop in Toys'R'Us - I parked there due to it offering 2 hours free parking and to avoid paying for parking which obviously has not worked. As this is my fault, is it still worth contesting? Or shall I just pay the £120?

Also can anyone explain why the issue date is different to the date of the offence?

It may be worth noting that G24 is also an approved operator of BPA - does this change anything? They also have a PO Box address and reading older post: the 'time of ignore', this is against BPA's code of practice. Is this still the case?

Would like to say sorry once again for another newbie thread, and thanks in adavance for taking the time to read and reply.

As a newbie you do seem to have missed the most important thread - that dedicated to newbies facing your precise situation:

    Definitely read the Newbies thread.

Once you get the Notice to Keeper ( and you will already have this if you didn't get tickets on your windscreen ) appeal to G24 - FOR EACH TICKET - with the following :

    Dear G24,

This is an appeal against the charge issued to the vehicle with the registration XXXXXX, charge reference XXXX.

It is the registered keepers assertion that :

    1. The charge is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss.
    2. The signage does not conform to the BPA CoP to which G24 has committed.
    3. G24 has no authority to issue charges over the land in question.

As such the charge is rejected. You should now either cancel said charge or provide a POPLA code for the registered keeper to appeal to the independent adjudicator.

Any further correspondence other than confirmation of cancellation or a POPLA code will be considered harassment and could result in legal action being taken against you.

Hi benplymouth, the newbies post is here. It answers most of the questions you ask. With regards to you not visiting the retailer, you can either leave out the step of appealing to the retailer, and just appeal to G24, or you can just see if the retailer will help anyway as a lot of people don't keep their receipts. With regards to the issue date, I'm not sure, but I'm guessing that is the date they got your details off the DVLA and processed your notice.

Firstly, don't panic. You have receive invoices for a penalty payment over an alleged contract breach between the driver and the parking company.

This are not parking tickets. Only the Police and council appointed traffic wardens can issue those.

G24 from my own personal experience aren't very savy when it comes to admin of their own invoices.

Do your homework from the sticky threads on how to get these ridiculous invoices cancelled.
Search my post " PoPLA evidence - What to submit" on what is a good defense for a PoPLA appeal.
