Letter received from ANPR Ltd.
Someone pinch me, I must be dreaming!!!!!
Having read your letter, and having looked at all the details of the incident I have decided to rescind the parking charge notice and there is nothing to pay. Your details will be removed from our systems and you will not hear any more from us. However, we do store the registration number (for reference purposes only) in the event that these circumstances reoccur.
Signed by P Roberts. ANPR Appeals Manager.
Thanks for the help and guidance given!
Is P Roberts the new guy/gal who has replaced N Martin?
BTW It's a breach of the DOA & their KADOE contract with the DVLA for them to keep any of your data so is worth a complaint to the DVLA who may not care about the DPA but do care about the PPCs paying for each time that need data. They will be diddling the DVLA out if £2.50 if they keep your data so that they
don't need to contact the DVLA the next time you commit a parking 'crime'.0 -
I would also write a strongly worded letter to ANPR telling them you do not give them permission to store your car data and as they now have no reason to. You wish them to remove you car registration from their system immediately. There is no reason to keep it whatsoever.
From gov.uk:Everyone who is responsible for using data has to follow strict rules called ‘data protection principles’. They must make sure the information is:
used fairly and lawfully
used for limited, specifically stated purposes
used in a way that is adequate, relevant and not excessive
accurate
kept for no longer than is absolutely necessary
handled according to people’s data protection rights
kept safe and secure
not transferred outside the UK without adequate protection
The key point is that it is kept no longer than absolutely necessary.
They no longer need your details. They have cancelled your PCN, therefore they do not need ever to contact you again and they do not need to keep an eye on your car!Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. They are certainly NOT allowed to store any of your data - this is basic DPA stuff. Complain to the DVLA and BPA about this joke of a firm yet again. Email addies are in post #6 of the NEWBIES thread - send them a copy of that letter and point out how the final part breaches the Data Protection Act, the terms of their ICO registration and their KADOE contract too.
It is high time this lot were banned by the DVLA or chucked out of the BPA. Your complaint could be the last straw so do it!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
