PCN at Freeport Braintree

I was issued a PCN at Freeport Braintree for overstaying by half an hour.

Firstly, they sent the letter to my old address - my car hasn't been registered at that address for well over 6 months so that was odd?

Also, by the time the letter was redirected I am over the 14 day period for a reduced payment so I now have to pay £100. This is an extortionate amount especially considering it was a weekday and the car park was practically empty all day!

Do I have to pay this? What are my options?

What makes you think you have to pay anything? Who is the parking company involved? Have you contacted the landowner/retailer for this, if not why? Complaints work!

You also need to read the sticky thread by coupon mad, it has everything you need in there, including an appeal letter you can adapt and use.

We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Do you have your receipts or bank statements for evidence of your shopping at the centre? If it were me I'd go to the information centre to ask for their advice. They may be able to help as if you had done that on the day you would have been able to park for free.

 Welcome to the parking forum board.

Who cares about the discount bribe, the 14 days is nothing but the 28 days to appeal IS.

Please do start at square one and don't pass 'go' until you've read the 'PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? NEWBIES PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!' thread right up near the top, which gives you your first appeal wording (doesn't matter about the circumstances). It also tells you about the acronyms like 'POPLA' and 'no GPEOL':

We have 100% record of wins at POPLA stage, for over a year now. Get a move on and send an appeal electronically or by email as it's a Bank Holiday weekend.

Also if you search for 'G24' as a keyword in this forum, you will find Hot Bring's posts about his shorter appeal which ALWAYS works against them!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
