Hi everyone
I just wanted to add to this discussion because I would like to help anyone else who was in a similar situation as my family- being continuously harassed by 08453312610 calls.
This number is a genuine Nationwide number. We have persistently been harassed over numerous weeks by automated calls from this number, ringing numerous times a day from 8 o'clock in the morning till late in the evening. My husband being an ambulance man works shifts, has lost sleep and I have been extremely inconvenienced due to working from home. These calls have been for my daughter who no longer lives with us. We spoke to our local Nationwide branch who denied these calls were anything to do with Nationwide. At my wits end I rang Nationwide and was passed to their investigations department and then onto the collections dept where we finally got to the bottom of the problem. They have agreed to finally stop ringing us. I cannot believe a reputable company such as Nationwide can act in a manner that can cause such distress to its loyal customers. We have considerable life savings with Nationwide and we will be closing our accounts. My advice is if you are being harassed in the same way contact Nationwide's collections department on 08004643040.
You are saying these calls are by the collections department?0 -
Hi hollydays
Yes, the Nationwide investigations department gave us the phone number for the nationwide collections department and they said the reason they were calling us was because my daughter had given our phone number as her contact number. But she tells us she had updated that number and presumably because they couldn't contact her on the new number they persistently rang ours. The collections dept agreed to stop the calls only after my husband very firmly but politely informed them their calls were making him ill, that our daughter was 21, we weren't responsible for her actions and that she no longer lived at this address. I would just like to say my daughter doesn't owe thousands of pounds and that after going back into our local branch they reduced it to less than £30!
Hi peter_the_piper
No not for one moment do I think they would stop harassing us if we closed our accounts with them, but I certainly don't want to have anything to do with a company that uses such heavy handed tactics.0
