virgin bills up after mild landline use

i have virgin but a few local calls last month rocketed my usual bill of £63 to over £83 currently I have xl broadband xl..tv and phone....but i don't use my virgin mobile minutes.and neither does my wife..if i go broadband only and use the mobile.....so in the end i pay twice for my calls.as i don't use my allocated virgin mobile minutes.

my plan to cut tv and telephone land line keep broadband but pay extra £30 for vigil broadband to avoid getting trapped in a contact.

i was told by retention team at virgin to keep landline to unplug phone so not to use it. Remove tv package but this would constitute a new contract leaving me broadband and phone for about £21.00 a month any thoughts welcome..

looked at the bill a couple of national calls to a friend down the road and NG1s..
we can watch most tv via the smart tv or iPads...

so I am looking to cut things back and save money.....

i have a works mobile which is free as long as i don't over do it and both me and the wife have 200mins each on virgin mobile sim only contracts that we never really use. the tv we have netflix and itv/bbc iplayer etc so no need to keep virgin tv...the kids have cartoons on it most of the time anyway...the rug rats have xbox 360 so they can watch their stuff via broadband netflix etc...on the second tv...

If you used http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php via there 0808 freephone number you would only pay 5p connection and 1p a minute. For any 01/02/03 call wherever they are.
