Usual is cut and paste from usb stick to tablet or PC .
A usb stick does not transfer stuff by itself .

If you had bought a Windows surface using windows 8 you could of done what JJ Egan said. Just tried it copy then pasted the picture to C drive. It has the normal size USB port. If you are used to working with windows that could be the way to go.

Sorry but I am a total novice at this and do not have any idea how to do that.
I selected the photos, pressed the paste button and they went into a file but they are not there when I remove the usb stick.
I know that I am being totally stupid but can you explain the process to a simpleton, please.:embarasse

    Thank you.

Unfortunately it was way out of my price range and I am not sure what cut and paste actually means :(
  • Hold your finger on the photo and select, save image, from the menu that should appear, said photo should be then stored in your gallery or photos or downloads. Can't be any simpler xx

Tried that but it did not give me that option.
Ended up taking a screen shot of each photo - not ideal but it worked.

    Thanks for your help.
