The Customer Service I've spoken to recently has been based in Bradford. Had a laugh with them because we have a Bradford post code, which the guy commented on.

(not the joke of the century, but I guess if you work in a call centre you have to get your laughs where you can.)

I've been a Santander customer since they took over my old accounts from Alliance & Leicester, and a 123 customer since that account was launched. I've never had any issues with them - they are far better than Alliance & Leicester used to be.

Thanks to everyone for the responses. Seems that the Store card CS is different from the bank account CS. You've all settled my concerns and I think it's about time to stop pondering and actually do something. I'm going to apply for a 123 current account today.

I am in the 20+ current account club

I always had you down as 40+ :)

And on topic... I have rarely had occasion to talk to Santander but use their email facility occasionally and they have been fine.

I'm fairly sure robatwork was referring to the number of current accounts you're running :o

Are you really approaching 80 now  or are you having a senior moment  :rotfl:

We've just opened a Santander 123 account with a lovely lad from Belfast. He told me that they only use UK call centres.

So far so good. And have to be better than HSBC who pay peanuts in interest now.
