Yes budget phone will perform slowly

With tesco you have a few options in the £10-20ish bracket Moto g Samsung galaxy s4 mini, Sony Xperia sp and others

As above.......its purely touch screen but the Motorola Moto G is great value for money at Tescomobile......£12.50p/month 500 minutes,5000 texts and 500mb of data.

You will have to decide what kind of phone you need. While they are touchscreen the Nokia Lumia Windows phones are relatively easy to use and even the cheaper ones work well.




The Motorola Moto G is also a good choice but some other cheap Android phones are less good.

That's sounds a good deal..being dumb about mobiles I'm afraid of ending up with something awful. I have friends who have to pay for each text and are afraid to use their phones or are continuessly topping up.
