But the first part of Gordon's reply is incorrect. If the re-assement is due to begin in April 2017, the claimaint can expect to get an ESA50 about 2 weeks after the re-assessment begins, so if it is 01/04/2017 then expect it around 15/04/2017... and so on.
My ESA50 arrived about 2 months before my review date (which had been extended by 18 months ) Obviously your experience has been different to Gordon's and mine with your ESA50 arriving 2 weeks after your review date.

Jim, I never receive any ESA50, I do not claim ESA and never have and hopefully never will.

I bolded your sentence above,,... all that proves is that your reassessment started earlier than you thought it would.

When a claimant is given WRAG or Support Group decision, that decision is entered into JSAPS (JobSeekers Allowance Payment System) Dialogue screen JA791 with an expiry date.

When that expiry date is reached the computer automatically flags up a "WAR" (Work Available Report). This WAR is dealt with and cleared by the Benefit Centre Work Capability Assessment department. In clearing the WAR they create a new referral in your name on MSRS (Medical Services Referral System).

When a new referral on MSRS has been created,..... "Medical Services" otherwise known as CHDA (Centre for Health and Disability Assessments formerly known as ATOS), sends out the ESA50 to the claimaint, this is usually done the very next day.

You then receive the ESA50 with a deadline for return.

So you can see, Jim, from the above process, you cannot receive an ESA50 for a reassessment, until a new medical referral has been created, which will not be done until they (DWP WCA team) receive a WAR, which will not be created until Dialogue 791 has reached its expiry.

    Quite simple really.

If you want to know when your next WCA reassessment will be phone ESA Enquiries after you have been put into a group WRAG or SG, (i.e. if you are currently under reassessment right now, there is no point in asking this now) and ask them what is the review date that has been set for my reassessment? Ask them to look in dialogue JA791 to find the exact date.

I phoned 0845 608 8545 and they gave me my review date. My ESA 50 was posted out 2 months before that review date, with a letter saying it had to be returned by one month before that review date. I am sure you are right and I thank you for your help, but you are quoting DWP theory and I am quoting what actually happened.

Can you confirm you got through on 0845 608 8545 and spoke to someone on there, or did you hear a message telling you to hang up and re-dial 0345 608 8545 and then did that?

Yes they gave me their first name and office location, together with my review date. Would be interesting to hear when others got their ESA50 in relation to their review date.

To me then, it sounds as though that person you spoke to did not know to look in 791 for the exact date. And maybe said something like "you have been given 18 months so that will be April 2016". Or even guessing an actual date like 22/04/2016...(based on 18 months from the date of decision note) without actually checking in 791.

Sometimes the review date is entered inccorrectly into 791, i.e. the Decision Maker says 18 months, but it is put into 791 as 3 months. But even then it is only actioned when that review date in 791 is reached i.e. after 3 months.

As far as I know, it is not possible for it to happen except at the expiry date in 791.

BTW it is 0345 now, not sure what will happen if you phone the old 0845.

Upon calling the 0845 number you should have heard a message to hang up and re-dial the new 0345 number.

Can you confirm you heard no such message, that you made contact with DWP on the 0845 number, and which landline or mobile provider you used to make the call?

I carefully record all my communication with the DWP, so yes I can confirm all that. But it was 2 years ago and the last call I made to DWP at 0845 608 8545. My next phone call to them was over a year later on 0345 608 8545.
