OK, after their WBAC tat, their regular dealer tat, comes a privateer with a bag of bolts. Do you think BCA is really the place for this?

To answer your question, the best way to sell a broken car is to repair it. If you don't want to do that then you must expect buttons for it, any prospective buyer has to factor in the worst case scenario.

I'd rather buy a common car with engine problems than a rare one.

If I were looking as a buyer, I'd consider how fast I can throw an engine in a corsa and how easy it is to get an engine for one as a major benefit.

why is that? why would the average car buy want to inherit a headache?

you don't seem to understand my logic. rare cars are harder to come by so if you can find one with a head gasket failure you will still buy it to fix it. e.g. a e30 m3, morris minor, early porsche cayman etc.

I dont think there's anything to gain from a 10 year old fixer upper corsa. To make it worthwhile you'll have to sell it super cheap. Probably better to scrap it or break it.

No, but then you didn't actually direct your question at anyone, and this being a public forum, I thought I'd help you out since you appeared to be misunderstanding.

I can explain the mechanism for addressing a question to someone if you like? It's really quite straightforward, thus:

'What you lookin' at' - Wrong. In many ways.

'Excuse me, what are you looking at, *insert name here*' - Correct.

    Oh dear, I am disappointed.

That must be a long list by now.
