You can then do the no blame, no win, no fee, no injury but please pay me £1500-£2000 for the none existent whiplash...happy days.
How much is the offer and what exactly is the car and extent of the damage?
You could ask them for a cash in lieu of repair and repair it yourself and still make money on it.
If the insurer would rather take the £1500 route rather than the £150 route so the op can buy a local car, which is surely the going rate for his car in his area, rather than a cheaper car in a different area, that's down to the insurer, and why all our premiums are going up.0 -

I don't follow.
TP insurer has made an offer that's £150 less than a locally advertised car, the OP hasn't confirmed what the offer is or what the car is so no one can advise really.
Alls we know is that out of the 7077 Volvos advertised on Autotrader at the moment, only 2 of them are suitable."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -
can you not get a hire car from 3rd partys insurance? you may just have to re look at things and find a different car, what i wanted when i first looked was out of price range...and area range, even with a hire car im not travelling 100 miles to look at 1 car! but a lot of research and only visiting 2 garages i have found a car, not what i originally wanted but im happy ..and being from a local garage if i have any issues with it ...they will be close enough to go moan at them.goal for 2014....i will manage money better ..must resist shopping..............:A0

What do you want the Third Party insurers to do, buy you a car, hand deliver it and valet it for you as well? Accidents happen, insurance is there to pay for the repairs/replacement, some times you win some times you lose in these cases.
With a few tweaks, that would work: Third party's insurers fund a suitable replacement, and a hire car for up to two or three weeks whilst injured party is trying to find one if the vehicle is indeed a write-off. It takes a few days to get an inspection done, so two or three weeks should cover research, test driving, inspections and so on. When you consider that most of us do actually work for a living, and aren't allowed to use t'interweb for personal use in work time, two weeks can still be pushing it, especially if you can't find a suitable vehicle immediately. Perhaps that would sharpen people's wits a bit, and they'd pay more attention when driving.
It's all very well saying "sometimes you win, sometimes you lose", but in many cases, no car means no work, because the write-off is the only means of transport. Some might have a bicycle, but 20 miles each way in all weathers at either end of an 8-10 hour shift? What about food shopping? We're not all able to afford the home delivery people, you know.
Foxy, I made an offer, subject to a satisfactory AA inspection. The offer was refused.
Oh. and I'm not looking for modifications, just a standard model. Like most people, really. Some places won't even hold the car whilst a potential customer makes the journey to check it out. Which makes the suggestion of travelling 100 miles to check a vehicle risible.0 -
