CarPhoneWareHouse - '£100 on top of the trade-in value' deal - Online / Postal Trade In

OK, I have succumbed and ordered a shiny new phone and I want to trade-in my old phone.

I ordered online and CarPhoneWareHouse are currently offering £100 on top of the normal trade-in value of my old phone = ££££s over other trade-in deals.

I've completed the online trade-in form and I have now received a padded envelope to use to send the old phone off to them - I'll sort this out at the weekend.

Meanwhile...
Do the phones get routinely 'lost' in the post so that the trade-in cashback doesn't come through?
Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery?
Any advice / experiences of using this service?

Thanks,
Ching_Ching

Spend the extra on Recorded Delivery and be done with it.

I agree. A couple of quid is a small price to pay for that peice of mind by getting recorded delivery.

Actually I's suggest you use Special delivery. Recorded only covers you for £50 in case of loss or damage in the post.

Thanks for the replies - I think I'll go for the Special Delivery option.

Just wondered if there were any reported cases of CPW reneging on the offer if the phone is sent off to them via post..... and for what reasons.

If they don't get the phone you don't get the trade in.

If they don't get it is it because they lost it or the carrier is a different matter, and impossible to say as a generalisation. You know how good and bad Royal Mail is...

Do we really? The only time I've had packages sent by RM vanish the sender never has proof of posting.

    Strange that eh?

I've known them go missing SD as well.
