Mummyglam, is it true Grosvenor down to 76! It's one of the hardest grammar to get in for the last few year, that's why I didnt put on the transfer form.

Phone most school around us , put name down on waiting list, finger cross :(
    Anymore I can do ?

Sorry just seeing that you didn't put it down. Its an awful procedure. Are you picking any of the schools they sent out with letter? Im not, I have said I will wait out to see how it goes. I done this with my daughter and she got her place the week before school began. Well worth the wait, even if it was a little stressful

    Eastbelfastmummy!

Did you return waiting list form via email? And did they tell you that's what they took down too? Why did your little boy not get in with 81??? Possibly appeal it?????

Inzane_mummy, you have to hand in the form no email, which I did this morning.
I didn't put Grosvenor down originally because it's cut off last couple year 104-105, it's one of the hardest, I'm so wrong, I blame myself every second. My son work so hard and he's so sad this morning.
I did pick another secondary on the list which is still available just in case we got nothing but that is 10 miles away from us.
Grosvenor couldn't tell me the cut off yet, just told me to wait if something come up, they will contact.

I have the same boy here hun....its an awful experience for them? Did you attach a copy of AQE result too? Im just printing it out as I write and will drop it down. I sent mine back via email and also said if I would hand in hard copy which they were happy to take as we live so far away. We expected my son to get higher than what he did. Don't blame yourself, if I could take anything from my experience 5 years ago is just keep fighting......if you believe your son should allocated a grammar place..........ill be here to go through it with you so your not alone :)
  • Pity we dont have any result to compare what happen to the high AQE to GCSE and Alevel results? University entrance? If a school with low AQE students do just as well in GCSE, then they have done well.
  • @eastbelfast mum, all is not lost yet, we pray for you and your child. There is still hope for grosvenor

My daughter got 91......and is sitting on majority A's in GCSE.....she originally got placed in Laurelhill College but got placed eventually in Hunterhouse. I believe its down to the child in the end......wish someone would compile that List haha!

Thanks Scarletlady for your support. I'm so sad because I loose the place I might have if Grovenor really took down to 76, that means they need filled the place up with the lower score student, don't think any left!

I am really shocked at the Grosvenor score this year. Its a fantastic school and is up there as one of the best in Belfast. I definitely think it is a mix of the Strathearn scores being so high this year (up by 7 points on previous) and how high it has been in previous years to get into grosvenor (103/104) which has put people off applying. I think that anyone going forward in future years can take from this the importance of putting in the schools in matter of preference as opposed to the score that you think will get into a school.

For those still trying to get placed - I will you all the best. Keep pushing as hard as you can and hopefully it will all pay off.
