Hi.
Do any of you know where and how I would be able to obtain the AQE papers which the children are sitting after they have done them, for example is it possible for me to find paper 1 now that they have completed it a week ago?
Many thanks0 -

Hi adam9317
The aqe website offers past papers for sale up to the 2013 papers. Not sure when they will make the 2014 papers available for sale but would not expect it to be any sooner than next spring or summer after all this years results have issued and people have had the opportunity to ask for remarks, lodge appeals etc.0 -
It's great to get the GL tests over, very intensive for the kids. I had to leave my daughter off at 9am and pick her up at 12.40pm which was long. She's knackered which is hardly surprising. She found the English quite hard and said the maths was OK but just got it finished in time. How did your daughter find it Sca11ion?0

Hi Workingmumof2. My daughter said the exact same regarding the English paper being the harder of the two papers. Just glad she had a smile on her face when I picked her up:) Glad that big hill is over, now just to finish off AQE.0 -

Hi Workingmumof2 (&MaggieMc) - Very similar story here. DD had been expecting a difficult one, but the test exceeded expectations. Certainly more intensive that the first AQE, not a lot of conversation afterwards (she and her friends all looked a bit drained afterwards). Like you guys, English reported to be the harder of the two, but she had less time at the end of the maths to check over. Glad that one is over.0 -
The GL sounds just too intensive. The kids are so young to stay focused for such a long time, don't think I could manage it! Lol. I'm sure they were all drained after yesterday.0

Yeah it's a lot, i wish they would agree to one test for all schools rather than putting the kids through all this if they want to keep their options open regarding school choices. Glad to hear feedback was similar regarding how difficult the GL tests were. At least now the kids can concentrate on the last AQE's!0

Hi Workingmomof2 - can't really answer that without getting political, but I agree 100% with you. This has been going on for a bit, and it is a a bit of a mess regarding pressure on P7 kids, two different test authorities, four tests in total that they can't agree on.
Absolutely not our childrens' fault - they just deal with the extra pressure. Maybe our fault as parents, but I can't see any alternative right now if my DD wants to go to a certain school.
As parents with children, we didn't create this mess. Our kids just have to deal with it.0 -
9am until 12.40pm was awfully long for kids doing GL - surely it would be much better for the kids if they did one test on each of 2 different days?
Just an update on the 'difficult' words my son mentioned from the 1st AQE paper - I've heard that these includedGRANULAR
VISAGE
INEXPLICABLEany wonder he found them difficult - how many P7 kids would know the meanings of these words?0
