Complaining to Housing Association re their tenant

    I phoned the local council once to ask if they owned a particular property. I think (although I am not 100% sure) that they might have been able to tell if me if it had been owned by another social landlord. Sadly it was an owner occupier causing grief, which made life more difficult.

    IME, social landlords tend to concentrate on particular areas, although this may have changed with all the part-buy schemes. Anyway, if you know other properties nearby are owned by one HA, it's worth starting with them. If they don't own it, you could always ask if they know which other HA's DO have property near there, you may get lucky. There's one road in our city where property on the north side would likely be owned by one HA, but on the south side it would be a different one. Either would tell you this if you asked.
