Sky broadband

Hi guys
I'm having trouble with my sky broadband service in fact it's that's bad I'm not receiving service at least 50% of the time having made several phone calls to sky to sort it out they are sending an engineer to come and look at the problem.
This won't be until Friday this week and my payment date us tommorrow. I have contacted their customer service via email to tell them that l won't be paying for the service until it's been fixed. Am I within my rights as a consumer to do this. And does any1 have any other suggestions on how to ask to be compensated for my losses
Feeling frustrated by it all as this has been going on over 6 weeks

No you are not. Sky do not guarantee service 24/7 and there is no SLA on a residential contract. Ask for a credit for the downtime and it will be given. Sounds like you have a line fault, as Sky do not have any engineers-you are waiting for an OR engineer.
Cancelling your DD will simply result in the service being cancelled, and your credit record being trashed. No free lunch, and no free laptop

You don't have any right to do this. Continue paying as normal and reclaim the monies later for any downtime.Sienna1809 wrote: »I have contacted their customer service via email to tell them that l won't be paying for the service until it's been fixed.0 -

And at times like this is when you'd agree paying BT the extra £5-10 a month is worth it with there Customer service guarantee!0 -
Best broadband deals at the moment? Currently have fibre optic with virgin. Started off at 17.50 for the first 3 months, then it went to 22.50, then they put it up again to 25.00, and because I don't pay by DD, they charge a further £5. I don't stream movies or download anything, just browse the internet, so I don't want to oversubscribe with features etc. any suggestions?0

Eh? The service you get from BT OR will be exactly the same regardless of provider. BT Retail customers do not get any fault repair prioritisation. No free lunch, and no free laptop
