Blimey! Given the big money earners using tax avoidance schemes and people thinking like that it's a wonder this country has any money.
I'd happily take a couple of months a year off if I could have a seventy grand turnover and not have to bother with tax and tax returns.
If you need to waste an hour or two one day give the 'private' seller boards a try...the rubbish that people spout is incredible. It is actually worrying that tax and employment issues are so badly misunderstood by many people, I have come across the same in the voluntary work I occasionally do, people are genuinely surprised to be accused of defrauding HMRC or the DWP when they were not employed just 'earning some cash for holidays'.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You need a strong constitution to read them. Some sellers have feedback of 10,000+ and aren't registered as a business !You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

My favourite so far:
Business sellers are people with (at least) a unit on their local industrial estate, and a mini van with decals0 -

How do you report someone who is obviously a business seller ? Ebay probably won't do anything about it, but the ones with shooting stars feedback are just taking the mickey !!You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

I'm still having minor issues with ebay today- slow loading and uploading photos and some pages getting 'stuck'.

Rather than start a new thread, is the eBay picture uploader down again?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected.0

I think there is an intermittent glitch. I struggled yesterday on and off, and I've just tried re listing something and all my photos had gone, I didn't try again as I just can't be bothered.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Back on the subject of the community boards I've just come across this great comment on a thread arguing about business sellers registered as private sellers
Live chat told me that it is up to the individual seller whether or not they CHOOSE to be registered as a business seller.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Shocking ! Why don't HMRC crack down on these 'private' sellers ? Surely the revenue they would recover would pay for the cost of employing staff to do it.
When sellers have feedback of 10,000+ there is no way they are just clearing out their junk. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever
