mms charges?
I have loads of sms txts included in my Tesco mobile contract so dont understand why if I send a txt to more than one person it converts to mms and I get a 25p charge. Also if I send a long txt instead of using two or three sms credits it also converts to mms and I am charged 25p. Is that correct and fair? I have spoken to their chat and they say this is correct but I am sure this was not always the case. Anyone able to advise?

Most phones automatically convert group texts to MMS and long texts to mms.

Its usually down to the phone. What phone do you have?
For example i have an xperia arc s. I have used it on vodafone, orange and t-mobile. I can send long texts and it tells me when i reach the specified number of characters that it will be sending 2, 3 sms. Also i can use a and it still goes as a sms. If my wife uses the on her S3 (on Orange) is converts it to a mms.0 -
If you're using Handcent on Android the last update switched the default to mms for text's longer than 3 standard length (rather then their old default of always set to sms). I didn't find out until the next bill after the update!!0
