Stopping in a hatched yellow box in London

Hi All,
I have had a penalty notice of £130 for stopping in a yellow box in London, I am a HGV driver and I requested the CCTV footage to look at myself, although I am stopped in the box, the facts are, I was following another HGV driver through the lights so could not see around him to see how the traffic was moving, the lights were on green all the time I was stopped, I was stopped for no more than about 8 seconds and was not causing any obstruction. The lorry stopped in front of me which meant I had to stop. I have spoken to the Transport of London and even though they agree I was not stopped for long, he did say I was stopped.
Your help in getting me off this charge would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you couldn't see you shouldn't have gone into the box.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

You're not supposed to enter a yellow box until your exit route is clear. You could stop on a yellow box if you were turning right and the entire right road was empty and you were waiting for oncoming traffic to clear ... but if you're following somebody you should wait until they've cleared it and until there's room for you to fit in the gap between their rear end and the end of the box.
I know how tempting it is though as you fear that somebody else will jump into that spot .... so tempting, but that doesn't make it right.0 -
I agree with the others but would add that most people get off most Council/TFL PCNs when they post a pic of all pages received, in a new topic on pepipoo forum here:

Let us know when you win - IF you are allowed by the registered keeper of the van to conduct all stages of appeal. You have to follow the appeals process, a written procedure followed by adjudication - do not PHONE them, utter waste of time! And you will not win based on saying 'I followed another lorry and couldn't see'. However, as I said, MOST PEOPLE DO WIN on pepipoo because they find other technicalities wrong with tickets and the box junction lines, etc.
As you are saying it was a Transport for London PCN I know for a fact there's a wording flaw re the 28 day timelines, as I post on pepipoo too!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I often wonder if London buses are penalised for stopping in hatched areas (as they seem to do with impunity) and if not does this create a precedent for we normal folk?cheers
