Developing a trusted brand off the back of a sales force made up of freelancers is a difficult thing to do.
Hard to manage
Unconcerned about building the brand
Unlikely to be committed to the company
Very tough.0 -

I find people are very quick to criticize bad service, but if they get a bogstandard 'what they expected' service they don't bother. My fee was the higher £1,200, but I'm saving nearly £6,000 on the 2% my local agent quoted me. I just thought it would be good to share the other side of the story.
OK thanks. I'm sure you can appreciate the scepticism though.
Yes, people are always quick to write bad reviews and slow to write good ones.0 -
I'm viewing a Purple Bricks property next week (the vendor is away until then). As it's in Scotland, does anyone know how making an offer will be handled? The online offer seems to fit with the E & W system but not sure about Scotland.0

I'm really unsure about PurpleBricks. The properties in this area and price bracket are selling really fast at the moment, so it shouldn't be a lot of work to sell it...
I can't see anything on their website about extra charges, but I see some mentions in this thread about extra fees?
Our local agent only charges 0.75% plus VAT, but that's £2800...0 -
We just re-read the thread and decided it's really not worth the risk!0

We wanted to use an online agent but after seeing how hard it was for prospective buyers to book viewings via purple bricks we went with House Network instead (they have a 24/7 freephone number). We are sstc now and im really impressed with how house network have been on the ball all the way through. Compared to some on here who say purple bricks give radio silence, house network guarantee their sellers a weekly phone call (if you want it) or they will sell your home for free.
I'm nothing to do with them just really really happy with their service compared to the local "traditional estate agents" who really didn't give a stuff when we previously listed with them and the idiotic pair of timewasting ftb's couldn't get a mortgage.Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...
Pet Peeves.... queues, vain people and hypocrites ..not necessarily in that order.0 -
I hadn't heard of House Network. Are there other fees or is it just the £699?0

We paid the extra for the viewings to be done by Purple Bricks as one of the houses was 45 miles away. You get a regular estate agent so you get the experience and they get all the pictures, plans, descriptions done before uploading to all the property websites. I had contact cards galore from rival estate agents saying Mr XYZ is looking for a property please contact us!
I would use them again and quite happy if anyone wants more feedback.
I'm just waiting for Purple Cars next (-;0
