It's not his business though its yours, I'd see a solicitor as the potential evidence they could have could lead you to bother.
What address is on his wage slips and what address did he put down for your mortgage application.0 -
The DWP investigators will have been sat outside your house on many occasions over a period of time and will have full details of all the comings and goings at your property, car registration numbers, etc.
If you can explain the comings and goings, and show via documents such as change of address to bank, etc, two weeks ago, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Was the letter just sent by normal first class second class delivery?0

Not sure I have posted correct as my first time on here... Lol was the original letter sent to you via first second class post ? Or hand delivered?0

So really, if it wasn't for the debt, you would have been together all this time? Now that youv'e claimed separately, he has been able to save money by not supporting his family, and now that he is debt free (or just about), you are prepared to take him back and have a mortgage with him....ummm, I can see why you would be investigated.
That seems like a very negative way of seeing things in that since he is better off single that means it works off well for him and the fact his debt is now mostly paid off makes it suspicious even more
I can understand suspicion of someone but that is pretty much saying they are just working the system rather than assuming innocent till proven guilty, a common problem when people think about people on benefits is that they lie about pretty much everything.0 -
Hi yes it was sent through the post - the letter itself does not state under caution but the info leaflet it came with did? We applied for a mortgage under our own address!?0

I received the letter yesterday and thought it was because I hadn't got round to phoning up the various benefits to inform the
That my partner had
Moved in just shy of 2 weeks ago.
Is that saying that although you admit he moved in two weeks ago, you didn't bother to inform the benefit agency that this was the case? Why not? How will they believe that he wasn't there before when you continued to claim benefits as a single person when even you admit he had moved it then?0 -
an he not prove he has been living at his mothers?0

Hey yes he moved in on the 2nd of May after we were rejected motgage because of not having enough self employment history. So he moved in on the 2nd. I Tryed calling the council x2 on the Tuesday and Wednesday but it was an automated service which it stated it could take up to 6 weeks to respond so I knew that would be too long. When I Tryed going in round about ways to actually talk to someone on the phone it just sent me back to the automated service again and then when I did get through to a line I was waiting for 15 mins while the children were having their nap and by the time they woke up I was still listening to playing music. I knew I had 4 weeks to tell them of a change in circumstance so didn't see it as a
Matter of urgency as had only been a few days! But now as it's all fallen at once it looks horrendous I really just can't believe it0
