I'm still waiting now for RSVP's and we got married 6 weeks ago!
I sent the invites out 6 months before with an 3 month RSVP date on them. One couple dropped out the afternoon before the wedding luckily we knew a couple that was staying the night before that we had only invited to the evening so asked them if they would like to come to the full day and they were delighted0 -

Yes, we did something similar when someone dropped out the day before.
I still find the notion of responding so far ahead an odd one. Anything could happen in that time!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Save the dates are 6 months with rsvp being 3 months
Save the dates can be anything up to 2 years ahead - invitations are generally 6 months.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

You need an invite to RSVP, not a save the date. Normal etiquette is invite 2-3 months before the wedding date with RSVP around a month before. That's certainly how we did it (10 years ago).

Sending an invite more than 6 months before and expecting an immediate answer is idiotic.Needing to lose weight start date 26 December 2011 current loss 60 pound Down. Lots more to go to get into my size 6 jeans0 -

We've sent out our save the dates, we get married next august, but I was mindful of the date and wanted peopl;e to know we were getting married before they book holidays etc.
Our invites are going out at xmas so approx 8 months before with a respond of april. So 5 months before, but I hajve a lot of family comng from abroad if they can make it hence hte longer time scale0 -

I have to agree here. If I got an invitation for October there's no way I'd be answering now, it's far too soon! August is quite soon enough. My husband works shifts so no idea what his work pattern will be then.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

We were put under even more pressure to reply in May (and given a 2 week deadline :rotfl:) so we said "yes". No reply from either bride or groom , but we'll decide nearer the time whether to go or not.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
