Hello everybody,
Please, could someone tell me, or can I find out anywhere, which of the phone/broadband/TV service providers do not have call centres/customer services based in India?
I am currently having trouble with my service provider and I am having to go through a customer service centre based in India - complete nightmare - and my provider has just put my price up!! Not happy, as you can imagine.
Any information most gratefully received - thank you.

Is it just the Indian call centres in particular you wish to avoid? What about call centres in the Phillipines? Would they be ok? I believe there is just as many, if not more now, there than in India.
Apart from Pluset as said above, I think most providers outsource at least some of their call centre work to overseas.0 -
Most of Sky's are in the UK. I think a staff member told me about 70%, the foreign ones being used more heavily during UK unsocial hours.0

True- the vast majority of Sky's offshore are TV not broadband tech.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

When you start with a negative attitude you're less likely to get good customer service irrespective of whether you're talking to a well-spoken, courteous Indian, a sweet-talking Irishman or an unintelligible Scotsman; I've left the Welsh out because I'm biased ;-)
I nearly always get great customer service over the phone from Bombay, Delhi and recently Mumbai (that's new for EE, I think - I must ask about that next time). I always ask the representatives' names (and usually how to spell them), where they are, even what the weather's like where they are, etc. It's amazing what a little patience and courtesy will do. And be aware that they are under a lot of pressure for not much money - blame the companies for that, by all means, but not the representatives. And exactly the same attitude works with the Irish call centre (Waterford) and the Welsh one (Aberdare). Wherever they are in the world, they can be really helpful if you're pleasant to them...0 -
It's the Soylent Green approach to commerce; use low cost labour to feed/service budget customers.
If you are used to turning left when boarding a plane:
